1. Ownership and Copyright
All lesson programs, worksheets, teacher guides, posters, downloads, images, text, activities, designs, and other materials from The Curious Mind Expedition are protected by copyright and remain the intellectual property of The Curious Mind Expedition.
Purchasing a product grants the purchaser a license to use the materials. Copyright and other intellectual property rights are not transferred to the purchaser.
2. Permitted Use
Within the scope of the purchased license, the following is permitted:
- downloading and storing the materials;
- printing the materials;
- using the materials within the licensed educational practice, classroom, group, or household;
- displaying or digitally providing the materials to students covered by the license;
- storing the materials in a secure digital learning environment accessible only to individuals covered by the license.
3. Prohibited Use
The materials of The Curious Mind Expedition may not, in whole or in part, be:
- resold;
- publicly published or made publicly available;
- shared with individuals, schools, organizations, or other parties not covered by the purchased license;
- made available through websites, social media, file-sharing services, or public online platforms;
- distributed by email, cloud storage, or other digital means outside the scope of the license;
- used as part of commercial training programs, courses, workshops, coaching programs, or similar services without prior written permission from The Curious Mind Expedition;
- used as the basis for products or materials intended for sale or distribution;
- used to train, develop, test, or improve artificial intelligence (AI) systems, language models, or similar technologies;
- uploaded or submitted, in whole or in substantial part, to generative AI systems or other AI services for the purpose of reproducing or modifying the materials or creating derivative materials for distribution.
Copyright notices, logos, credits, or other source attributions may not be removed or obscured.
4. Adaptations
Adaptations to the materials are permitted for use within the scope of the purchased license.
Adapted versions remain subject to The Curious Mind Expedition’s copyright and may not be distributed, sold, or shared outside the scope of the purchased license.
Permission to adapt the materials for use within the purchased license does not include permission to distribute or sell derivative products based on the materials.
5. License types
Classroom License
This license permits use:
- in one classroom or educational group;
- at one school location;
- under the responsibility of one teacher, educator, or facilitator.
A Classroom License applies only to the classroom or educational group and school location for which it was purchased. Files may not be shared with colleagues, other teachers, or other classrooms outside the scope of the license.
The license may not be transferred or taken to another school location or organization if the teacher, educator, or facilitator moves to another school location or organization. A new license is required for use at another school location.
School License
This license permits use:
- at one school location;
- in up to 5 classrooms;
- with up to 40 students per classroom.
The materials may be shared within that school location with staff members directly involved in delivering the educational activities covered by the license.
A School License is valid for one physical school location only. Use at multiple locations operated by the same school district, academy trust, school group, foundation, or other organization requires an additional license or an Organization License.
The School License remains tied to the school location for which it was purchased and may not be transferred to another location or organization.
Organization License
Use across multiple school locations, school districts, academy trusts, school groups, foundations, practices, or other organizations is not covered by a School License.
An Organization License is required for such use. The scope, duration, and other terms of an Organization License are agreed upon separately. For licensing inquiries, please contact hello@thecuriousmindexpedition.com.
License Duration
Classroom Licenses and School Licenses are valid for three years from the date of purchase, unless expressly stated otherwise at the time of purchase.
During this period, the materials may be used within the classroom, educational group, or school location for which the license was purchased, subject to the limits of the applicable license type. Changes in the students enrolled in those classrooms or educational groups do not affect the validity of the license.
The license may not be transferred to another school location or organization.
After the license period expires, continued use requires renewal of the license or the purchase of a new license.
6. Updates and new editions
The Curious Mind Expedition may improve, update, correct, or revise its materials.
Minor improvements or corrections may be made available to existing customers at no additional charge. New editions, expansions or additional programs may be offered as separate products.
Purchase of a product does not automatically entitle the purchaser to future new editions or substantially expanded versions unless expressly stated otherwise at the time of purchase.
7. Violations
If these License Terms are violated, The Curious Mind Expedition reserves the right to take appropriate measures to protect its intellectual property.
Where there are reasonable grounds to suspect use outside the scope of the purchased license, The Curious Mind Expedition may request that the user demonstrate that the materials are being used in accordance with these License Terms.
8. Governing Law
These License Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, except where mandatory applicable law provides otherwise.
Statutory rights and exceptions that cannot be excluded or limited by contract under applicable law remain unaffected.
Disputes will be submitted to the competent courts in the Netherlands, unless mandatory applicable law provides that another court has jurisdiction.
9. Severability
If any provision of these License Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
